About UCITS

The Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities Directive 2009/65/EC (“UCITS”) is a consolidated EU Directive, that allows collective investment schemes to operate freely throughout the EU on the basis of a single authorisation from one member state. EU member states are entitled to have additional regulatory requirements for the benefit of investors.

Plato Global Market Neutral Fund – UCITS (the “Fund”) is managed by Plato Investment Management Limited (the “Investment Manager”). The Fund is an open-ended sub-fund of Pinnacle ICAV (the ICAV) an Irish collective asset-management vehicle umbrella fund with segregated liability between sub-funds which is registered in Ireland by the Central Bank of Ireland and authorised under the European Communities (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) Regulations, 2011 (as amended).

Investment objective

The Fund aims to achieve long-term capital appreciation.
The Fund is a global market neutral fund that aims to generate positive returns in all market environments. The Investment Manager will target a correlation of close to zero to the MSCI World Index. The Fund will endeavour to achieve this by taking long and short positions in global equity securities.

Benchmark

The Fund uses the ICE 1 Month LIBOR as its benchmark.

The relevant benchmark for each Share Class is the ICE 1 Month LIBOR for the currency in which that Share Class is denominated (each an Index).

Key investment policies

  • The Fund will employ a market neutral strategy with a target beta of close to zero
  • The Fund employs a systematic bottom-up investment approach
  • The investment universe is comprised of global listed equity securities.The Fund can also invest in both exchange-traded and over-the-counter derivatives including options, futures, forwards, swaps and contracts for difference
  • The fund will also hold cash and cash equivalents
  • The use of derivatives, primarily contracts for difference, will be central to the normal operation of the Fund
  • The use of derivatives creates leverage which will magnify the potential gains and losses of the fund
